If you love life, life will love you back...
Hi there! My name is Zara Jones and welcome to my lifestyle blog where we talk about Positivity, Self-Care & All Things Curly Hair! I'm a 6x Published Author, Writer, Blogger, Dedicated Volunteer, and a recent high school graduate from Dallas, Texas trying to live my best life at the age of 19!
I love sharing my personal experiences, tips, and tricks with others because well...why not? I'm very passionate about helping, giving advice, and keeping my curls tight! I'm very involved in my community and all things related to food! I'll talk about how I balance those three things in my daily life too. In this blog, you'll get a chance to learn more about how to incorporate positivity, self-care, and which curly hair products & tips really work!
You still might be wondering why I decided to jump online and write? Well, a few years ago my life took a complete turn when I was involved in a major car accident, and at that time I felt I lost everything. As a student-athlete, I couldn't play basketball anymore because I was hurt physically and mentally. I wasn't coping well with my injuries and my new lifestyle was the total opposite of how I lived my life before. I couldn't compete on the basketball court, attend events, go to the movies, listen to music, or even attend high school like before. I retreated into my room to focus on my physical, mental, and emotional rehabilitation and getting better. I spent a lot of time by myself hoping that eventually one day I would be "back to normal" - well let's just say I've defined my "new normal" after my breakthrough...
One day, I picked up a pen & paper and started writing my feelings. Writing became my outlet. I felt like every time I picked up my pen, the pain melted away. I felt like every time I read my own writing, I felt better about myself and finally decided to embrace my new talent in writing.
Through this journey and experience, I finally understood that life is precious. When we think we're having a "bad day" trust me - it's never that bad of a day until you hit rock bottom by losing everything that used to make you smile. So, I took it one day at a time and decided to focus on all the good. Slowly those dark days disappeared.
Through my challenge, I've learned to embrace every day as an opportunity and gift to be better than the day before - I hope you can see from my posts the journey I've made and can relate to them too.
During the pandemic, I wrote and published 6 books that can help others overcome their losses too. When I finally came to terms that I would never be able to play basketball again at a competitive level, I found a new passion in writing and I believe that my messages in my writing are a gift I can share with you.
Feel free to email me any topics you'd like me to talk about.
