Ways To Stay Motivated

Updated: Jan 30

Hello everyone! Did you miss me?

As some of you may know, I am working on a big project for my Girl Scout Gold Award. It's coming along well, thanks for asking, but I feel like I've been missing something. Since I took a break from my blog and shop to do my project, I felt like I had all these ideas and thoughts in my mind that I couldn't express because I haven't been writing. So here I am, finally writing again and active for you guys!

So it's pretty obvious our topic for today is going to be about ways to stay motivated. I know my self-motivation took a dive when Senior year started and my grades were not looking too hot, but at least I was able to motivate myself again and tell myself I can do it!

Whether or not you need to stay motivated in school, work, your social life, your health, and lifestyle, or maybe you're just trying to stay positive and motivated throughout COVID and you feel that you're on your last string, just know this article and I are here for you! These tips are going to be easy peasy and super simple for you!

  1. Write goals for yourself: Whether these are daily, weekly, monthly, or even quarterly goals, make sure you always have a clear target for yourself. This can help you clearly understand your goal, what you need to do for your goals, and how you're going to do it.

  2. Cancel out all distractions: Yes, I know it's easier said than done, but trust me you will feel so much better once you get rid of the things that seem to be taking up all your time away from what you really want to do. Sadly some of these distractions can be people and sometimes you have to make sacrifices in order to get the job done, but you can still always make time for your friends and family!

  3. Do positive affirmations: Positive affirmations are statements that describe a goal you want to achieve. When you repeat these affirmations to yourself daily, this will affect the subconscious mind and trigger it to get into action and turn your affirmations into reality. So yes, if you tell yourself you can do it then you will do it!

  4. Make a reward system for yourself: Setting a reward system for yourself can help you stay interested in your task. Whether you reward yourself with a friend's night out, ice cream, shopping, or just simply taking a break and self-care day, make sure to always reward yourself for the hard work you've been putting in.

  5. Surround yourself with people who motivate you: Believe me, there will be days where you will tell yourself "Nah, I'll just do it later" and that's normal, but when you surround yourself with people that are there to support you and motivate you, you can get so many things done. Don't underestimate your abilities and remember it's always a good idea to tell others your goals so that you can have a little extra support because it always feels good to hear people rooting for you.

See, pretty simple right? These are the methods I personally use to stay motivated and they really help! Always remember that you can do ANYTHING you want, all you have to do is believe in yourself. Never let anyone tell you that you can't do it and never tell yourself you can't do it because you can! Remember to set your weekly and monthly goals, it's never too late to start. Help a friend out by sharing this article with someone who needs a little push when it comes to motivation!
